Environmental Impact and Recycling:

  • PA6 is recyclable, though its recycling process is not as common as PET or PP.
  • Should be kept dry before recycling because of its moisture absorption properties.
  • When incinerated, PA6 releases water, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. It does not produce halogens, sulphur, or heavy metals during combustion.

Storage and Handling:

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent moisture absorption.
  • PA6 should be dried before processing due to its hygroscopic nature.
  • Handle with care to prevent mechanical damage.

Safety Information:

  • Generally safe for various consumer and industrial applications.
  • When processing or welding PA6, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent the inhalation of fumes.
  • Although not extremely flammable, PA6 will burn and melt when exposed to open flames.
